Pecs

On my 13th day in Hungary, I made a trip to Pecs. I liked the older part of the Hungary with the Pecs Cathedral that was built in 11th century. The center of the city is very beautiful with delicious food and very nice and kind people. I also liked the zoo and museums of the city. Pecs is a lovely city the inexpensive accommodation and food. Visiting Hungary was an awesome experience. I enjoyed it a lot and I am looking forward to visit this marvelous country again and explore it in more depth.

Lake Balaton

Lake Balaton, the largest lake in the central Europe, is surrounded by fairytale forests, volcanic mountains and much more. It is known as national park in Hungary. In the south of the Lake Balaton, one can go resorts with clubs and live a party life. Nevertheless, it is very quiet, peaceful and beautiful in the north of the Balaton. During my stay in Lake Balaton, I experienced both northern and southern life. I spent two days in the Lake Balaton and visited the castles and palaces along the lake shore and took the ferry across the lake. I also went to Haviz, a place famous for thermal spa.

Gyor

In the Gyor, I stayed in the Isabelle hotel. I spent two days in Gyor. It is a very beautiful town, full of colors and flowers. Gyor is a town of festivals.  It is Hungary’s one of the richest town in historic buildings.  It offers various attractive programs for art lovers throughout the year. Gyor is small enough that one can walk and see the city just in one day. The city hall is one of the easily recognizable buildings of the town. It has been served as the city hall since 16th century. In the Gyor, One can walk the entire day but do not feel too worn out. The colors of the town do not let you to feel tired of walking. I enjoyed my stay in Gyor a lot.

Miskolc

I heard a lot regarding the Miskolc transport that it is transport is one of best transports in Hungary. Train journey to Miskolc was an awesome experience. Miskolc cave thermal baths are very famous. The water, full of minerals makes you feel very relaxed. Boating, in the beautiful lake surrounded by wild trees, is an awesome experience.

Szeged

On the Seventh day in Hungary, I headed towards the Szeged. I boarded the Rail Europe and reached the Szeged in approximately two hours. Szeged has a lot to offer to its visitors such as theatres, operas, classical and popular music performance and the architect of the city. In the afternoon, I went for the thermal baths that are the part of the Hungarian culture.

Debrecen

During my holiday in Budapest, I took a day trip to Debrecen, a second largest city of the Hungary after Budapest and one of the cultural and social centers. I boarded the train in order to go to the Debrecen. Train journey is very famous in Hungary. After visiting the Nagyerdei Park and Puszta forest, I went to visit the Protestant Great Church that has 3000 seats and is the largest church in the country. Its interior is very beautiful and worth seeing.

Night time in Budapest

During my fifth day in the Budapest, I decided to see the real Budapest and did not touch my guide book. I was interested in knowing about the local life of the Budapest and I found out that the local life involves a lot of food and dancing. I went to a local dance session on the Buda side of the city. I did the ordering and food was placed in front of me. Once the lunch was done, the waiters cleared the tables and the dancing begun. It was a Hungarian folk dance. Everyone started to dance in circles or spins around partners. I was amazed watching people dancing and enjoyed it a lot.

Chain Bridge in Budapest

Next morning, I want to visit the Margret Island. This island is named after Princess Margret. I didn’t realize how much spas or baths were a part of Hungarian life until I visited Budapest. Thermal baths or spas are a part of the Hungarian culture. There are a couple of bath complexes on Margaret Island, but Palatinus Strand is the larger of the two. It is a complex of out-door pools that has waterslides and wave machines. Some has fountains and jets and some are constituted with warm thermal water.

Budapest is amazing

The next morning started with the delicious Hungarian food. I went to the hotel’s restaurant to do the breakfast.  Once I was done with the breakfast, I decided to explore the places that were on my guide book. I board the train and first went to see the Castle quarter and then to the Fishermen’s Bastion. Both places are really amazing. Castle Quarter is a part of the world heritage. It is a very marvelous building that has the ability to astonish its visitors. After spending a plenty of time there, admiring the architect of Hungary that can be seen in that stunning building, my next destination was Fishermen’s Bastion.  One could view the Budapest’s many fantastic sites. The view of the Budapest from atop of building is very beautiful.

Beauty of the Budapest

It was warm and sunny when my plane landed at the Budapest international airport. The hotel representative was there to fetch me. When i reached the hotel, the people were sitting in the open air bar area bordering the street, chatting, and playing cards and enjoying the jazz music. No matter what the temperature, Budapest is a city that is perfect for walking.  After resting a while, I went to see the National Opera House. It was at walking distance from my hotel. National Opera House is a very marvelous building, surrounded by various other sights, restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood. What pleased me the most was that wonderful main staircase, whose charm puts a spell on every visitor at first sight. After spending some time there, I decided to go to the Danube River Bank, a beautiful place to take pictures. If you happen to go to the Budapest, this place is a must to visit, a beautiful night sight that lets you to absorb the magic of the night light.
